Laguiole Steak Knives at Anthropologie

The selection of plates, napkins, cookbooks, and, now, steak knives at Anthropologie always seems to surprise me- in a good way! They have such a cool variety of home goods.  Yesterday when I popped into Anthropologie, I saw that they are selling Laguiole Steak Knives.

The terms “Laguiole” once held more weight and meant the knife was from Laguiole, France where the original style was created hundreds of years ago.  Today, knock-offs made all over the world and the term is used to describe this style of knife.  It’s modeled after a shepherd’s pocket knife and has the signature bee where the handle meets the blade {click here for more history on the knife} . If you want the “real thing,” look for the knives made in Laguiole or Theirs.  But if you’re like me and don’t have the cash to spend on the real thing… look for the ones that are still made in France and use high quality materials.  These fit the bill  and come in cool colors!
